birthday man and birthday boy

this is a picture of one of my favorite pictures taken 2 yrs ago today. i keep it on my mirror in my bedroom. it's actually the only picture i have there. aiden was brady's age now and brady was colin's age now.

as i do three days a year now, in and out of the day i think about what i was doing and what the birthday boy was doing years ago at the particular time i look at the clock.

after our morning hellos, kisses, birthday greetings i told col how he was still in my belly, 2 yrs ago today at that time.

i showed him where again after breakfast.

right about now, at 10:30ish i told brady they were cutting mommy's belly open now. (mommy's graphic).

colin's my only morning baby so i thought by the time 11am came i'd be done thinking like that but nope. it continued throughout the day and about the time when that picture that i keep on my mirror in my bedroom was taken i showed the boys and talked about when they first met colin.

anywho. brett told me a week ago what his birthday cake request was, as if i couldn't guess. duncan hines yellow 2-layered cake with chocolate frosting. how boring, it must be love. i planned for that 30 min cake, but then last night he told me he was changing his request. a redo from sunday, only in 2-layered cake form. this changed our day.

brady spent ALL day making a birthday crown for colin.
