last saturday i surprised the boys and we went to borrow/rent 2 baby chicks for 2 weeks. 2 girl, 4day old cute as buttons chickies. the boys were ecstatic.

for the record, brett was completely opposed to this. i kindly asked him if he could not roll his eyes as he was handed the chicks, pretend he was with us on this one. he did. and they've now grown on him. richter was his concern but richter could care less.

the boys care very much about the girls though, and Always want to hold them.

the chicks have made the boys stop bouncing from wall to wall and put down their swords and lightsabers for a few brief moments since their arrival, reminding me of especially brady's very gentle side.

like my boys, the chicks do everything together. sleep, eat, play, drink, poop. we're getting a little attached. 1 week to go. and one narrowly escaped her cage today. good thing we were home. must be more diligent about putting the top on when we leave now. richter may decide he likes them very much after all.
