firstly, i do like to teach the kids independence as early as possible. one more thing they can do for themselves, one less (or sometimes 3 less) thing(s) i have to do for them. colin totally gets that. he's always the first one up now with no school. im guessing around 7amish since he's finally learned how to be quiet and let the rest of the house remain sleeping.
such a morning person and such a clothes horse, first thing upon waking he gets himself dressed. he picks out his own clothes, and while sometimes his undies are backwards he doesn't care so either do i. this outfit is completely acceptable 97% of the time. he's ravenous when he wakes so he helps himself to breakfast usually consisting of 2 blueberry nutrigrain bars but if he determines he can handle the milk himself (not a full gallon) he'll go after the cereal. im honestly not bragging, this is merely to describe his true self, but he then brushes his teeth. all this while we're all still in bed. he just loves his toothpaste and brush. he brushes his teeth everytime he goes to his mema and pops' too. i guess it's been worked out that he has his own brush there? i don't think i've ever inquired about this. i really only know all of this bc like goldilocks, he leaves a path of destruction wherever he goes. he is not the best at cleaning up after himself (yet).
he's got a lot of spunk in him, speaks with a NY accent, smiles constantly, eats constantly, uses the term "darn it" but pronounced "don it", hangs tough with his brothers, still sleeps with fufu, doesn't have nighttime accidents, prefers milk to water, rides his bike with training wheels faster than i think those little wheels were designed to go, occassionally will fall off but sticks his head up and says "i didnt hut myself!", Must ride it everyday, is game for anything, i would say his motto is 'if there's a will there's a way',
these pictures were taken on the day we surprised the kids with our new boat!
brett and i bought our house 11 years ago where we did specifically because it would allow us the rights to put a boat on our community's lake. 11 years later and finally no reasons anymore to not have that boat (baby or business related). another dream come true.
as excited as WE were i couldn't dare tell the boys bc they'd be almost as bad as us counting down the days. the day of our maiden voyage we told them to "get dressed" (it was one of those colder nights so we knew no swimming), "use the bathroom, we're going to dinner". inquisitive monsters they are asked where we were going for dinner which we responded a "new place, the Marina". they were just as excited as us. this beats disney anyday.
