with all the reading required of aiden outside of school, i haven't been reading anything to him. he loves when we have our own chapter books to enjoy before school and/or bed and we weren't making the time for it. it would have even gone unnoticed still if i hadn't done my usual quick scan of the small, but resourceful movie selection at the library last week. this time, for the first time, i saw The BFG jump up and start waving frantically at me. it got my attention and right away i headed to JF DAHL and there too it was, the book version to give us the comparison package.

we're enjoying this very much. and it brings with it a bonus. with talk of queen and palace living and aiden loving to act things out, i brought the opportunity to our dinner table. manners were ever so slightly improved when we spoke about how we'd be expected to act in front of a queen. we'll get to watch the movie this weekend for sure.
