thankful friday

brady now trusts his life jacket enough to swim out to the dock, and jump in all by himself. the summer started out with aiden encouragingly swimming out with him. he doesn't need anyone even in the water now.

colin tells me to countdown and then he does his "cannonball" 6 inches in from the beach.

camps are now over. i think i overcamped us this summer. aiden was certainly exhausted from it. august holds an entirely different summer for us.

inspired by a pair of the boys' terry shorts, i turned a handmedowned harvest gold towel into "lake shorts" for me.

im picking again tomorrow.

there's a fun new candy store in town. i spent about as long in there alone as i would have if i brought the kids. ...we have special individualized desserts tonight.
