all day, i kept getting quite the kick out of how much they looked like cat burgulars. ooh, mental note: next year's easy Halloween costumes. there, done. no, but especially fitting because lately these two have been like partners in crime against me. but it's halloween and i won't harp on them here.
it was a little bit of a tricky day, the timing of it all. colin needed to nap Early as in how about 10:30, since we'd be out from 12:15 on. he was good and obliged.
i helped dress the main man to drop him off in-costume only for him to bitch and whine about his costume since the time he got in it. nothing new, the whining and bitching, just new subject matter. it's his new thing. i know what we have to do to help ease it, oh but right i'm not getting into that now.
i, happily dropped his whiney almost 4yo self off at school to leave him to his teachers to deal with him not liking his costume anymore to race back home so colin and i could get ours on. prior to this i questioned one last time whether i wanted to dress up for the boys' parades but my last bit of confidence came when i saw a sole mom, although probably actually involved in her child's class party or something, but it was the little nudge i needed.
so, raced home, did my preliminary thing. checked the clock and realized it's game time and i need to quicken up my pace as in it may take a bit longer than expected to get colin in his. plus, these parades can be over before they start so we can't be late.
sure enough, mr. teammate to his brother doesn't like his costume either. i promise candy corn and he cooperates again for me. throw on my final costume piece.
colin proceeds to keep his costume on for the next 7 hours mind you, all smiles even.
so we, colin and i catch aiden's parade. i see him looking for me from way afar and when he spots me i hear him yelling "there's my Mom! that's my Mom!" which is what made me feel a little better when driving back home seeing how i was the only Mom, parent, person over 4 not including the kindergartens and some teachers, dressed up. that's ok, i'm cool to the 6yos.
wait, bad picture i know but doesn't he look so old?
brett got home practically when we did, with only enough time to throw his costume on and us to get back into the car one man stronger now for brady's parade/party.
brady of course was fine by then. and never complained about anything the rest of the day/night for that matter. is that right? wait, there had to be something, let's not think too hard about it.

trick or treating went smoother this year as i imagine they will continue to. everyone's legs got a little longer and they didn't tire as quickly. we got way more loot than ever as well.

Once again, you guys totally ROCK! I love the costumes...especially Chewy! Adorable!
You are so right about being cool to the 6 year olds (what counts!). I would also bet you got a lot of the Mom's out there wishing they had been as smart, confident, and cool as you too...at least I hope so since I was the only Mommy I saw out last night dressed up! LOL Way to go!!
Love it! You guys look great, as usual. :) Colin is absolutely adorable in his Chewie (hope I got that right - i have not seen SW in YEARS) costume.
Oh too cute, ALL of you! love love love little Chewy!
Great hair Kim... I think you should go with that look all year round!! LOL
Kim, you are the coolest mom EVER. Ever. Love the pix and OMG, I could eat Colinbaca with a spoon. Well done!
