This is Brett. Drawn by Aiden's classmates.

Yes, kids typically draw smiley faces and suns shining but I still love it. The one on the left Brett is carrying his equipment while the upper right one he's with Aiden's friend. :)

Brett was a guest in Aiden's class last week to talk about what he "does", work wise. A doctor, a dentist, and a police officer had visited prior. Naturally a drain cleaner would be next right? He may have slipped through the cracks if the boys' teacher didn't live on our street and knew what Brett does. Maybe too if Brett hadn't done a very random drop off one morning last month.

Still he went in and talked about where water goes after it leaves your bath, sink and toilets... and had a VERY attentive audience. He brought in his cleanest piece of equipment, his camera that he sends through a difficult line at times. The kids got a huge kick out of getting to go up individually and see themselves on the monitor. Afterwards an almost bigger Q&A ensued which ran like wildfire in tangents the way only children under 6 can do.

I asked Aiden if he learned anything that he hadn't know before about his Daddy's work. He said how the locator makes a beeping sound until (or was it when) it finds the spot. I didn't know that either.

Thinking from a business perspective, I had an idea for Brett to hand out little bouncy balls (kids love gifts right?) with subliminal ideas leading them to experiment sending them down certain household drains, followed by Brett's card. But for choking hazards and such he did just the cards. That alone, well on top of all kinds of "that's my Dad!"s gave Aiden a ton of happiness and my-Dad-came-into-my-classroom! feelings.

The class then sent several thank you cards home with Aiden today. Too cute.

I bet some of them want to be drain cleaners now no? :P
