"SNOWPLOW!!!"

Nothing blogworthy has been happening over here. Just figuring out how to keep the crankiness, whining, & temper tantrums at bay... unusual behavior for a 30 something year old but it happens.

The day is a lazy one, with the snow/sleet. Since we're on Night /Day whatever of the sharing rooms charade, the boys are in for a nap already. (The payoff). Ahh, I think I hear Colin has surrendered to one as well. A wood delivery came just in time Monday so Brett should be starting a fire soon. Snow days similar to the ones back in the day BC (before children) although not nearly as much alcohol involved today. None in fact.

Growing up we'd have lazy snow days like these where my Mom, Dad, brother & I would stay close enough but out enough of each other's hair to enjoy it. We'd have The Weather Channel on as background, maybe my Mom would be cooking if she had planned ahead, every 15 mins or so one of us would update the others on the accumulation and then at first sound of that steel to gravel hum, the first to hear it would shout out "SNOWPLOW!" to update the others. It all started when my Dad couldn't hear an update and asked "what?" and the reply came louder "Snowplow!" "What?" "SNOWPLOW!!" Soon it turned into a chorus similar to that heard at a Benihana. Brett's been in the fam a long time now and so when he wanted to start off the chant one year after being victim to the inside joke for years he waited for just the right moment, saw one, and yelled "PLOWTRUCK!!!"

As Brady would say "That's funny."

Yesterday in honor of Valentine's Day, the boys and I made red vanilla pudding, pink angel cake and valentine cookies so we'll be sugared up today.
